Another chapter of the “Love and hate you” relationship between Mexico and the US. I love Thanos Salt Bae shirt, because my family roots on America (The continent) come from 1749 before Mexico or US existed. Didn’t care before I read it, didn’t care after I read it. The us protected them from europe, happened lots of times, in fact, some of those debts were paid off in several states. Who cares? So true. This day is a day that so many of us have a misunderstanding of this holiday and what it really means. Please educate are young and old people and teach us what this day represents. Most people don’t know the significants of any holiday to them it’s some day to party for some reason. Everyone knows you can open a beer or chill any day any time for no reason. Ok great to have fun with friends. But most of us don’t really know o the origin of this holiday. Still great to have some great Mexican food and Margaritas!!!  Here in México is not a big deal of celebration. Basically we don’t celebrate it. No wonder it’s enormously popular in the US, half of Mexico is living here in the United States.  Let me get this straight….. Mexican Americans are celebrating the winning of a battle, yet they lost the actual war?!?! That’s almost too funny to be true.  I have no idea why this ‘holiday’ is celebrated here in the USA.

Just another excuse for consuming alcohol by irresponsible idiots. We should invade Mexico again and make some holidays worth celebrating. I.e. The day we became boarded with Guatemala. Im of European and Native American decent I am not White, snow, milk, notebook paper is white so to classify me by the color of my skin and not yourself by the color of yours seems to make your Thanos Salt Bae shirt. No sweat according to the recent polls America is going to be primarily of Mexican population anyway . They will switch it around. A friend and fellow worker, fresh out of Mexico told me they don’t celebrate cinco de mayo in his home country like they do in the USA. On April 30 the battle of Cameron is remembered where Captain Danjou held off a superior Mexican force. We are Americans one festivity should not as bad as “The Battle of New Orleans”. We must keep the $20 without being defaced. Imagine what it would do to the ECONOMINOMY.

Thanks Diane. I watch the History channel and have ordered DVDs from them. I did not know this about the cinco celebration. None of those st Patrick day or any of the rest are an independents day for another country. “This is an American tank we speak American ” Cause we are over run with people who live one foot in their own country and one in ours. Not to many Mexicans celebrating the forth of July in Mexico I bet.  In the USA most of the people that celebrate is not Mexicans their way of celebrating is getting drunk !!!! In Mexico we do celebrate big with parades from schools !!! And other celebrations at the schools. The beer companies made it a Mexican holiday here in America to sell more beer to their target demographic!!!! Mexico’s victory over the French oh and Alan B Shepard Became the first American in Space on May 5th 1963…. A little more important than idiotic college kids gettin another reason to show hiw sad our education system is.  Too funny, the grandsons of immigrants complaining about immigrants hahahaha. Sam Ismail like that but is more like =looks at it this way: July 4th here is Mexico’s September 16th, and our May 25th is their May 5th. Interesting. I knew about Cinco de Mayo. I was in Isla Mujeres on Mexican Independence Day one year and they had a cool shirt to wear. It was quaint but beautiful! Think you know it all ? Well, here’s the “true” skinny.
