I was in law school at night and my wife was out fucking a coworker. She had been acting strange for a few weeks. Then one day she went to bed and left her email on the computer open. I read it and saw their messages. I woke her up and confronted her. She denied everything until I showed her the emails, which I printed and emailed to myself to make sure I had copies. Then she only partially admitted what she did and left. That was the end of our marriage. Later she wanted to reconcile but I didn’t want her anymore. The trust was broken. Plus I saw her as a tainted whore. She ended up going back to her “lover” and they lived together for 5 years and then broke up. She moved out of town and ended up marrying some other guy. He can have her. There are a few incidents, but the most egregious that comes to mind is when I worked for a company that supplied an axial gas compressor to a gas storage company. This wasn’t my project, but I was asked to go and help during the final commissioning stage, as my speciality was tuning controls, particularly on large rotating equipment.

So I went a couple of times with the engineer whose project this was. We identified a few problems and put the solutions in place. After the modifications were completed we went back to the plant and I tuned the compressor controls which were in a satellite station. It ran sweet as a dream and performed perfectly with load changes. Next day we returned about lunchtime to close the project out. The lead engineer from the energy company came over and asked if he could have a go at tuning the compressor controls. I was a bit surprised because I thought that I had finished with that, but, it was his plant, and I had a note of all the settings, so OK. We stood back and let him play with the controls.
